Ghanaian gospel musician and philanthropist Alex Acheampong has released his latest single “Nyame Baako Pɛ (Only One God)” featuring Obaapa Christie. The song, which fuses traditional Ghanaian gospel rhythms with a high-energy, danceable beat, will be available on major digital streaming platforms from 9 October.
Reflecting on the song’s purpose, Acheampong said: “I know this song will uplift those facing steep hurdles in their Christian journey—especially those tempted to yield to family pressures or turn to lesser deities out of sheer desperation. Always remember: there is only ONE GOD, and He remains sovereign on the throne”. He also praised Christie’s involvement, noting: “Having my sister Obaapa Christie on this project is a tremendous blessing. Her distinct vocal command and anointed presence infuse the song with a level of grace, power, and authenticity that only she can deliver.”
The track was produced by Dan Bassey, whose clean, inventive production aims to reach both local congregations and global audiences. Acheampong’s Alex Acheampong Foundation continues to equip neonatal centres across Ghana with life-saving equipment, and he will host the Emmanuel Praise Concert on 27 December in Kumasi.
