Kofi Mole says fatherhood slowed his music output but he’s back in the studio

Originally reported by 3News (Mabel Antwi)

Ghanaian musician Kofi Mole told the On the Line podcast that his work rate fell after becoming a father, as he needed to be present for his seven-year-old son and to explore life beyond music. He said parenting took up part of the time he previously dedicated to creating new songs, and he also spent periods travelling abroad.

The artist stressed he does not let public expectations dictate his sound, warning that doing so would compromise his art. He added that consistency is essential in the industry, noting that any gap creates space for others to fill.

Now, Mole says he has returned to making music, confident in his ability to produce hits despite any criticism about his relevance. He affirmed he is focused on creating songs he loves and that resonate with his fans.
