Afropop artist Mr Eazi has unveiled a new single titled “Comfort”, which features Ghanaian-American vocalist Moliy. The track, produced by Nigerian hitmaker Ragee, showcases a bouncy rhythm, bubbly bass synth and a vocal delivery that sits at the crossroads of Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop and R&B, reflecting the fusionist style Mr Eazi describes as Banku Music.
Speaking about the release, Mr Eazi said: “This is an updated version of my signature sound… I’m making gyal dem music—sweet, easy, flattering gyal dem music.” The song was recorded during a summer stay in London.
The collaboration holds particular resonance for Ghanaian listeners, as Mr Eazi’s musical roots were shaped during his studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. Over the years he has worked with several Ghanaian artists and producers, including early hits like “Bankulize” with Pappy Kojo and “Skin Tight” with Efya, as well as later projects with Sarkodie, Eugy and King Promise. Moliy, known for the global success of “Shake It to the Max”, represents a newer generation of Ghanaian talent extending the country’s influence in Afropop.
“Comfort” therefore brings together two artists linked by Ghana’s evolving role in the international music scene, merging Mr Eazi’s pioneering Banku Music approach with Moliy’s contemporary appeal.
