Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale celebrated his 45th birthday on 17 October with ShattaFest 2026, a large-scale concert at Accra Sports Stadium that attracted thousands of fans. The event, organised for members of the Shatta Movement, required an all-white dress code and blended music, dancing and fan interaction throughout the night.

The line-up included Medikal, Patapaa, Fancy Gadam, Jupitar, Kwesi Amewuga and Sista Afia, each delivering their own style. Patapaa opened the show with his hit “One Corner” before joining Shatta Wale for “Body Fi Body”. Sista Afia performed “Jeje” alongside the headline act, while Medikal and Shatta Wale took the stage for their collaboration “Sika”.

A poignant moment occurred when Shatta Wale became visibly emotional, breaking down in tears as he surveyed the crowd, underscoring his connection with supporters. The concert also saw surprise appearances from actress Nana Ama McBrown, CID Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and former footballer Prince Tagoe.

Industry peers later posted congratulatory messages, highlighting Shatta Wale’s influence on Ghana’s creative scene and his appeal to younger audiences. The event demonstrated the capacity of Ghanaian popular music to draw large live audiences and reinforced the loyalty of the Shatta Movement.

Overall, ShattaFest 2026 combined a diverse musical roster, high-profile guests and an emotional headline performance, cementing the night as a notable celebration of one of Ghana’s leading dancehall artists.
