Originally reported by Citi Newsroom
The Western Gospel Awards have released the list of nominees for its sixth edition and confirmed that the ceremony will take place on Saturday, 14 November 2026. The event is set to be hosted at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Ghana and will be presented by Nana Quasi-Owusu, known as PM TheFinest.
Lead Consultant Maxwell Bills Ghansah confirmed the venue and date, noting that the awards aim to recognise a broad spectrum of contributors to gospel music in the Western and Western North regions. Categories span from Western Gospel Artiste of the Year and collaborations to radio and television programmes, choirs, instrumentalists and diaspora artists.
Nominees include established names such as Esther Godwyll, Kofi Karikari and Isaac K. Dentu, alongside emerging talents like Emily Adade Boateng and Herbert Rockson. The organisers have urged fans, churches and industry stakeholders to support the nominees and follow official channels for updates as the November event approaches.
The awards, organised by Prolific GH, seek to provide a platform for networking and celebration of gospel music’s growth, bringing together artists, executives, media personalities and clergy for an evening of recognition.
